Hahaha, The Abridged version of Sony's PS4 Release Show

Oh this is just fucking hilarious lol. The Abridged, and infintely more enjoyable, version of Sony's PlayStation 4 release show/extravaganza/IDKWTF

Seriously I'm not seeing a whole lot (or literally anything) here that's making me rethink my hatred for Sony or most of its products (including this POS Vaio laptop I'm writing this blog on! This fucking thing was the last straw for me as far as buying Sony products as a whole goes..). Just looks like more of the same ol' bullshit and I'm not even seeing super super fantastic graphical advances..I understand a lot of that has to do with what engines are out there or it and that as time goes on it will improve.

Problem is it just looks (specs and gameplay) like another shitty Sony product. Sony was once THE electronics company. But their standards have been falling in every category for years. A lot of what their running on these days is brand name. I read this very interesting article on Kotaku a couple of months ago about how poorly Sony was doing domestically, as they have traditionally always had strong domestic sales in Japan. The article went on to say that a lot of the smaller electronics retailers in Japan no longer even carry a supply of Sony devices. Samsung/Korea is where its at these days.

Oh and fucking blasphemy! Notice Bungie? :(  I know thats dumb but whatever. I know that the frst Halo was supposed to be an RTS on Mac. Whatever. Bungie shouldn't be on Playstation...its just wrong.

I really love how their doing their damnedest to get their name out there before Microsoft this time around. Maybe they learned something from the last cycle after all. I doubt its gonna save'um.

Audio Evolved

"HALO: REACH" Game Audio Profile from Michael Coleman on Vimeo.

An in-depth look at the audio design in Reach? Yes please! In this video we get to see and hear some of the masterful Marty O'Donnell's compositions being recorded, as well as other more mundane but no less important aspects of Reach's overall sound design.

Even if you don't know his name, you know his work. He's the man who, for the last decade, has given Halo its iconic sound. Apparently this will be the last Halo game his music will be on and as far as I'm concerned, no matter who they get to replace him for the future games, no matter how closely they imitate his style, they will never stand up to what he laid down before the. Just one more reason why I consider this to be the last true Halo game that will ever be made. If you've got 8 minutes to spare check it out, its worth the watch, and the listen.

A New Day Dawns!

With seven days left until the launch of one of the most anticipated games of the year, if not decade, I've decided to star a new blog dedicated not only to Reach and Team Noble, but to all things Halo in general! And so I give you, Reach for Halo. I know I know, campy name, but its a blog so what do you expect?

I think it would only be fitting to kick things off by showcasing one of the amazing promotional videos that the Microsoft marketing division has popped out in preparation for the launch of this monumental game. "Deliver Hope".

Call me a geek but that vid gives me chills. It's almost on par with that amazing ODST video they released during that campaign. It's odd, not to mention a shame, when a live action trailer for a game ends up being far better than the game itself. Thankfully that won't be the case with Reach. Bungie really seem to have outdone themselves this time. Not hard to understand as this will be the final Halo game that Bungie will be working on, if not the final Halo game that will ever be made. We all know Microsoft is gonna milk that cow as long as they possibly can...

Anyway, check out this vid if, by some miracle, you haven't already seen it. And for god sakes buy the game next week when it drops!

Edit: This is the extended version released sometime last night, even better than the original. Why is there not a movie yet?! More on that later...
